In collaboration with the Newry & Mourne Museum, two Poetry as Commemoration workshops led by writer Maria McManus will take place on

Saturday 7 October from 11am – 1pm

AND

Saturday 14 October from 11am – 1pm

During two 2-hour workshops, one week apart, participants will engage with and respond to items from the museum collection related to the War of Independence & the Civil War. Afterwards they will be invited to submit their writing to a special Poetry as Commemoration archive which will be housed in UCD Special Collections. Participants who have family stories or materials relating to the revolutionary period are invited to share these, but no family connection is necessary and all are welcome.
