As part of Culture Night 2023, Fermoy Library has partnered with UCD Library to host a Poetry as Commemoration writing workshop led by writer David McLoghlin. It will take place on Friday 22 September from 5-7pm.

During this 2-hour workshop, participants will engage with and respond historical documents related to the War of Independence & the Civil War. Afterwards they will be invited to submit their writing to a special Poetry as Commemoration archive which will be housed in UCD Special Collections. Participants who have family stories or materials relating to the revolutionary period are invited to share these, but no family connection is necessary and all are welcome.
