Younger Than I

A wall crumbles
The fire flickers

A boy runs through the street
Younger than I,

No one to be seen
No one to hear,
The foot skid on stone

The boy turns his head
As the rubble shifts

There she was, his goal
A girl younger than he,
Caught in the crossfire
